Fear and it’s effects on us.
We sit on the precipice as a society, culture, human race, global citizen.
In a return to love, I must ask myself this question daily when I notice I am not in a loving space for myself or others.
I liked the acronym that Neale Donald Walsh used in one of his talks, False Evidence Appearing Real! A humorous one F–k everything and run!!!
In either case, it is the ego mind that is running my own mind. Feelings of helplessness, hopeless, judgment, the favorite …I am right, you are wrong. The amygdala reacts (part of the brain that holds safe/not safe/familiar/unfamiliar based on past) and we either run/fight/freeze. We avoid, go numb or blame others.
Look at what is happening in the world these days. There is so much invitation for us to go to the fear place. The polarization in politics , environmental issues, safety, etc. Notice what happens in your own body as you consider this. Does it relax or does it tighten? Your emotions? What is the mental chatter?
All of this takes us out of center and into the dramas we have either created or contributed to in the world we see that have been going on for hundreds of years.
Bob Woodward’s book “Fear, Trump in the WhiteHouse” set the stage for what is truly going on. We all know that when we are afraid we can’t access a higher Intelligence within, our physiology is not capable of this.
Reported by Alex Altman “And no President has weaponized fear quite like Trump. He is an expert at playing to the public’s phobias. The America rendered in his speeches and tweets is a dystopian hellscape. He shapes public opinion by emphasizing dangers—both real and imaginary—that his policies purport to fix.” Please know I am only saying this to point out what politics is doing, no matter what party is saying it.
So in this holiday season, one that invites us to let our Inner Lights Shine, will you ramp up your Love, Compassion, Generosity of Spirit, and Kindness? This helps the entire field we live in vibrate at a higher pitch.
What about if this was your gift to humanity? to your family? to your employees? to your colleagues ? fellow workers?
We are at a place where the old is falling apart. We must ask ourselves “What energy can I contribute to co-creating a world filled with loving kindness, fairness and healing of old wounds”?
May this Holy month be filled with this awareness.
much love, Debra
