Gardening with Love!
I know some of us cringe at the word love. Do you? Notice what happened as you read that. What happened in your body? What thoughts popped up for you? Emotions?
What the world needs now is more love! Dionne Warwick song from many years ago “what the world needs now is love”. Yes, I have just dated myself ;-).
We are being served endless images, sound bites and movies that continue to imbed the consciousness of hate, anger, worry and fear.
So years ago I learned through my own gardens of beautiful organic vegetables and colorful endless flowering of perennials what it took to grow them that way. It was love and gratitude!!! Tim would plant the seeds with love. I would harvest the vegetables and flowers in deep gratitude.
Once I made a green bean dish for a party. Everyone so loved it and wanted the recipe. I joyously gave it to them, every detail to making them. A few told Tim that I had left something out, they weren’t the same. I thought about this for a few days and decided to go purchase green beans at the store/farm stand.
Using the exact same recipe, I noticed there was a difference in the flavor!!! The only thing that came to my mind was that the beans were planted with love and harvested with gratitude. There have been numerous studies on how things respond differently to how our emotions influence what is around us. Way cool uh?
For 30 years I have truly appreciated how I could help people find their way back to experiencing more love, wholeness, healing and gratitude.
I remember a therapist asking me about what I thought or felt as I worked with others. I told her that my only job was to love them, unconditionally. Unconditionally meant to me, in spite of their pain, wounding, emotional states, I would love all of it.
I continue to work this way when doing trainings for businesses, individuals, and in my own family. It just feels better to garden humanity with love.
