Making the Holy Days “wholeness” days
We are at the point of reflection, where we are contemplating the joy of the holy days along with a new year beginning. May we as a species move towards wholeness and healing for each other and the planet.
The Christians had Feast of our Lady of Guadalupe, Christmas, St Nicholas Day in Europe, Posadas Navidenas (hispanic Christian)the Soltice (earth based religion) Hanukkah (Jewish) Rohatsu (Bodhi Day – Buddhist),Zarathosht Diso (Zorastrian) and Kwanzaa. There are others however I stayed with ones in December;-)
Here is a meditation for YOU from the Institute of HeartMath. Being a trainer and coach I would like to share this with you and yours.
- Find a location to breathe quietly for a few minutes.
- Focus your attention in the area of the heart, pretend your breath is flowing in and out of the heart/chest area. With each breath imagine your mind, emotions and body getting still inside.
- From this place of stillness, feel a caring connection with someone, a pet or the Divine within, or just focus on peace.
- If thoughts come up, don’t push against them, just casually focus on breathing love and peace into the stillness to anchor the feeling into your cellular memory.
- Practicing inner stillness will help you make wiser choices when discerning important matters and directions. When we sit quietly in our hearts we experience our wholeness. As I sit in the stillness of my own heart, I can remember “who I am”.
No worries if you find this difficult, it takes time to still ourselves. These times are fast-paced and filled with a myriad of distractions.
May you find that wholeness within during this holiday season!!!
