Observing what is.
The other day I went to the pharmacy and the Doctor’s office. As I spoke to the nurse I could feel the anxiety she was trying to mask. In the pharmacy I witnessed another human being attacking the cashier, as if the cashier was the tiger chasing her. Observing what is happening inspired me to post this today.
In sitting in the doctor’s office as the nurse was taking my vitals and asking me questions, I asked her how she was doing and what she was noticing. One of the so called gifts I have is to perceive another nervous system. Hers was rattled. They are short staffed so she has more jobs to do. She said when people call in they yell. Blaming her and other staff, which puts her nervous system into a defensive stance. She is skilled enough not to yell back;-) However I noticed one staff member responding to someone with a “tone” in her voice that was not there before this whole “covid” came upon the world.
In the pharmacy the Cashier was being polite to the best of her ability. The woman in front on me began to yell, cussing her out with such an angry tone in her voice. She was pointing her finger at her yelling “you B…h, and F..k you” I truly had never witnessed something like this before. I noticed regulating my own nervous system as I observe this. The cashier ripped up the receipt and put the bag back behind her. The woman apparently had not paid either. She asked the woman to leave, as the woman left she yelled those same words louder.
The cashier was trembling visibly for me to see. I told her I was sorry that she was verbally attacked in that way. I explained her nervous system was dysregulated and would she like some help. She was too much in shock to even hear me.
Why is this important to tell you? Because as I listen to people this seems to be happening more often. Because there are ways to calm yourself down so you can be that person we are all being asked to be by Spirit.
The media has inundated us with Fear! Constantly and consistently pitting everyone against each other. Many of us don’t know what to believe. The only thing I see happening is the desire of the “powers that be” to keep us in fear.
The brain does not work well when our bodies are being pumped with stress hormones. At times I wonder about the intention of those who continue to do this to many people. What if they do know what they are doing? Keeping people scared is a great mind trick when you want to control others.
My experience has taught me when I am in that state of fear, I truly do make less than optimal choices!!!! The signal from the heart to the brain is chaotic. It is proven that when this happens my brain is hijacked. Then I watch how I “react” by attacking, running away inside, or shutting down (freezing).
How I have learned to see this differently with more compassion is through the wisdom of the heart. What I believe is happening to myself and others, is that we all have been invited into “fear” states. Our ability to access the PFC is offline, the vagus nerve (responds to the heart’s pattern) is offline of it’s ability for social engagement. Everything becomes a threat, even when it is not.
So, if you are finding yourself short tempered, short fused, judgmental, or wanting to isolate know that this is happening to many people in the world right now. AND you have a choice, which is something I never was taught.
I have a choice in what I feel, think and behave. Now more than ever as we sit on the precipice of major changes in our own personal lives and collectively we may want to consider choosing Love, Kindness and Compassion.
Breathing these higher frequencies/emotions in through the heart consistently can help establish in you and me a new baseline. Take a walk in nature, listen to uplifting music, laugh more often, sit in your heart to begin to warm it up more. Getting yourself out of “right/wrong” thinking into a more loving perspective or vibration is how to serve humanity as we go through these rapids of great change and upheaval.
