Taking advantage of global energies
Karen Berg from the Kabbalist Center wrote:
“Can we join together in a unified consciousness this week; a singular focus from the depth of our soul, so that we may send this energy outward to the whole of humankind?
There is so much that can be said about the Torah portion of Pinchas and the reading of it which will take place in our Centres all over the world come this Saturday morning. It is written that what made Pinchas a leader, what made him so unique, is that he was given the gift of shalom, which means peace. Disease (or, dis-ease, if you will) is said to begin in the heart. Imagine. If this was true, and I belive it is, how many diseases could be eliminated if only we could heal our hearts? “
This is where my own understanding comes into play. Research at the Institute of HeartMath has proven this since the heart influences all systems in our bodies, our respiratory, digestive and immune to name a few. Even which part of our brain is being activated comes from the pattern in our hearts!
She goes on to say:
“There is so much that we allow into our hearts that upsets us on a regular basis, from the mundane matters of someone cutting us off in traffic to the bigger things in life that don’t always turn out exactly as we’d hoped and planned. Pinchas, however, was the embodiment of inner peace. He was not moved. He was not deterred. He did not care what others thought of him, said about him, or did to him. His only concern was to connect with the Light of the Creator. It was this desire that gave him peace of mind, heart, and soul.”
I invite you to think about this one, when do you close your heart? The moment I want it other than it is.( all the should my mind has about this person or moment) ..this where I have a tendency to close my own heart, do you?
She invites us during this time to truly watch for this:
“This week, let us usher our fears and worries out the door; for they are illusions that do not serve us. If there is chaos, let us remain still in the certainty that this too shall pass. Let us find that place inside ourselves that allows others to be who they are instead of what we want them to be. With each breath we take let us fill ourselves up with a love unconditional, and breathe out any dis-ease we might feel towards others, and most importantly, towards ourselves.”
I had to ask myself how often I do this myself. I own I have not mastered this one yet, and am so willing to notice this tendency in me. Will you?
What gets in the way for me personally, is where histories come up. I base my choice of how I will be in this moment upon something that happened in the past. ( think of eye for an eye philosophy) . When I do this, I can guarantee that the future will repeat. He will never change, they always do this, well last week you did this, politicians are… you get the pattern. 😉 When I have this going on in me, the body is dumping all sorts of chemicals into me, that truly makes it harder to stop and shift. Perhaps I have even become addicted to this chemical cascade. This is what makes change so hard.
In this moment , I can ask myself what is happening in my body, mind and emotions? If I can be honest with myself in this moment, feeling into the distortion it is causing in me, I can choose again. I can ask my heart’s intelligence “what would be a more loving perception, attitude, behavior I can have in this moment?”
Can you? Of course you can, the question is really will you? Believe me I will be asking the same of myself. Right now we can all take advantage of so many at this time asking these same questions. Just like at Christmas time, even if you don’t celebrate it, we feel it and can engage more easily into the Joy of this time.
