The Greatest Reset!

I hear and read about the great reset. How things have shifted even more imbalancing the resources in the world. That corporations and technocracy are moving into greater power over humanity. The threat of nuclear war, financial markets potentially collapsing, mandates, oil spills, extreme weather changes, earthquakes, teens suffering either depression or anxiety…and on and on. This awareness can be overwhelming!

When I notice the overwhelm in my own system, I realize I am incoherent, my own nervous system is dysregulated. One of my favorite mentors says: we relate to each other and the world via our nervous systems. I perceive you and you perceive me through this beautiful wiring called the autonomic nervous system.

Since it is my thoughts and emotions (energy, and everything is energy) that are driving this dysregulation I have the power to choose something different. First I have to notice it. For me, when I become aware of wanting to fight or run away is one sign. Another is when I notice wanting to just avoid or distract myself (many use social media, netflix etc.) Find out what is true for you. Once I notice this, without any judgment of it, I can say to myself “ah stress response is on”.

When my stress response is on, I can’t think clearly, I can experience old habits and patterns that truly don’t serve my well being or my ability to relate to the world or others. This can be uncomfortable for sure.

Have you noticed these things in yourself?

So, here is the Greatest Reset: Notice the arousal without judgement, drop down out of your head into the center of your chest (heart space). Begin to breathe in and out of your heart, slower than normal, deeper than normal. Research shows it takes an even breath in and out, to bring the nervous system back into sync/balance. I personally breathe into the count of 5 and out to the count of 5, you choose , and it must be equal.

Try it now, see what you notice. Then since our emotions are truly driving our physiology, see if you can shift what you are feeling, as you continue to breathe. One of the easiest is the feeling of appreciation or gratitude! Begin to “feel” that. You can’t do this from the thought of appreciation you truly must “feel” it. Now you have shifted your nervous system, hormones and your brain!

In this shift that you have chosen, your perceptions change, your energy changes and the potential to co-create a different world is possible.

As we all take responsibility to reset our nervous systems, we are able to open our hearts to each other, LOVE more, have compassion for each other and heal on a very deep level.
